Would chlorine from a swimming pool affect brass or copper fittings?

When i work at my local swimming pool one of the most common cleaning jobs is de-scaling the stainless steel. In the chlorinated water environment of a swimming pool metals often degrade faster than normal however for brass and copper i do knot know because your pool only has stainless steel and pained metal. if you local pool has them then they must be safe of the council wouldn't have let the pool be open
