Set Windows 7 PC back to factory settings with broken screen?

My screen is smashed and i have been using an ACER monitor. I need to reset back to factory fittings but my monitor doesnt recognise my PC duering the process so i cant complete. How can over ride this to complete the procress or remove the HDD and plug in into another PC?
